WHAT YOU WILL NEED

1. Obtain a quality microphone
2. Download audio creating and editing software
    1. AUDACITY to record and edit sound files
    2. THE LEVELATOR to level sound at consistent rate, sound intensity and consistency
    3. iTune to convert to MP3

NOTE; A GOOD NARRATOR IS SUGGESTED IF YOUR VOICE/READING SKILLS ARE NOT GOOD

PODCAST SITES WILL NOT ACCEPT A SYNTHESIZED MECHANICAL VOICE

OPTIONS
a. Use your voice or a professional narrator
b. If an artificial machine sound is acceptable use a speech recognition/voice software or  convert your Word file to PDF, open file and select
PODCAST SITES WILL NOT ACCEPT A SYNTHESIZED MECHANICAL VOICE
VIEW, READ OUTLOUD, ACTIVATE, VIEW, READ ENTIRE DOCUMENT

You may have to edit for smoothness by adding commas, periods and ellipsis.


NEXT

1. Open AUDACITY and click microphone, then open and begin recording.

For PDF open this file and activate VIEW as above . this program will record from PDF. A Wav file is made, then EXPORT not file .

2. Save in file on your system in a folder called CONVERSION FILES

3. Open LEVELATOR drag file in and wit for leveling of sound

File will have an extension of   .output

4. Open iTUNES  , FILE, ADD TO LIBRARY

       1. Open your file location and select the output file  

        2. I TUNES will now show the WAV file

        3. select file right click and CREATE MP3 VERSION

Follow directions

5. Right click on file and in GET INFO add tag information, author, artwork  (book cover that you  should have created) etc. verify in GET INFO, SUMMARY, that it is now An MPEG FILE.


NEXT
6. Copy paste to a new folder called POSTCAST and file , the file is ready to upload to any Podcast site that accepts MP3 (the most popular format on iPods) and they will make it available to customers .

7.You can copy this file to a CD OR DVD , and it can be listen on any computer.
8. To listen as a CD on a CD Player --you MUST BURN IT TO A CD , NOT JUST COPY IT!
